Effective Ways For A Mental Kick

We all lack energy from time to time and when we need it the most, it can be hard to magically ingest a good amount of energy, but be hopeful as there are many ways that are proven to provide you with long lasting mental energy and keep you going throughout the day no matter what you aim to do. Whether it be that boring paper you have to write or some long winded maths calculations, there is a solution.

Read for 30mins

Reading is something I got into later in my teen years but defiantly realised how beneficial and important it was for me to read every day. Reading keeps your mind intact and helps with various aspects, such as improving comprehension, writing skills and even your ability to visualise! If you don’t read much, but need a mental boost, try reading an article on something that interests you, try to engage with each word and understand its context, or go even further and read a book of your choice for 30 minutes.

I guardantee, you will feel more alert and ready to roll. If you’re not used to reading, your brain will be more susceptible to turning on that switch for a mental kick!

Drink Coffee

Countless studies have shown that although there are downsides to coffee with those who consume large quantities, for the most part coffee can really be mentally beneficial to the average person who doesn’t drink coffee all the time. So the next time you feel mentally sluggish, buy some coffee and get it down you! You will be dancing with interesting and engaging ideas no doubt.

Drink An H’Erbal Tea!

Herbal teas have grown in popularity and there are so many to choose from! Although herbal teas have various benefits there are some that are good at boosting your mental state and generally improving cognition. Some of the popular ones are Green Tea and Chamomile but there is also:

  • Ginkgo Biloba
  • Gotu Kola
  • Holy Basil
  • Safe Leaf
  • Rosemary
  • Ashwagandha

There are more I can add the list but these are the ones I have had most results with. What’s great about these teas is that you can drink them on the go or before doing a focus needed task!

Mind Dump

Sometimes, we accumilate thoughts and block clear thinking but mind dumping can be a simple method to help with this. Simply get a piece of paper and write everything that springs to your mind. You may struggle or you may flood with thoughts but the goal is to feel clear minded and you will know when you do feel this way because you will be filled with energy.

Our energy and thoughts are connected, so give yourself time to sit down with yourself the next time you mental energy is low and just free yourself to write everything that bothers you, nags you and constantly worries you.

Think Weird

Yes I know its sounds weird and insane but hear me out. In high school my imagination was very crazy but I was able to understand and articulate myself better, mentally. Somehow when you think weirdly, whether it be about the possible existence of aliens or about onions suddenly talking to you when you are cooking (what), let yourself think beyond the present. Somehow opening those new avenues gives your brain a mental kick as you are thinking ‘outside the box’ on a larger and weirder scale..
